Paul J. Abbas

Paul J. Abbas received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from M.I.T. in 1969 and his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 1974. Since that time he has been on the faculty at the University of Iowa in the Departments of Communication Sciences and Disorders as well as the Department of Otolaryngology. His research has focussed on physiological investigations of the normal and impaired auditory system with particular emphasis on cochlear implants and properties of direct electrical stimulation of the auditory nerve.
